Recipe: Cinnamon Toast

A hot, steaming cup of Cinnabun Grande Kaffe coffee, with a piece of warm, buttery cinnamon toast. Sounds fantastic, right? Well, according to The Pioneer Woman, there is a wrong way to make cinnamon toast…and two right ways!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Butter
Bread
Cinnamon and Sugar

The first approach:

  1. Butter a slice of bread
  2. Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl, stirring gently
  3. Sprinkle the cinnamon/sugar mixture on top of the butter, then pop it in the oven: 10 minutes at 350, then finish it off under the broiler

The second approach:

  1. Butter a slice of bread, then pop it in a 350 degree oven for ten minutes. Then turn on the broiler and let it go for a minute or two until it’s golden.
  2. Then as soon as you remove it from the oven…Sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar mixture.

According to The Pioneer Women, the difference between Approach #1 and Approach #2 is when you put the cinnamon sugar on before you toast the bread, creates a topping that is crisp and somewhat caramelized. Sprinkling that yummy mixture on afterwards leaves it loose and partially soaked in the delicious buttered bread.
